The Spay-Neuter Assistance Program of North Carolina is seeking a full time Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant for our exciting Program. SNAP-NC was started in 2000 and to date we have completed 135,000 safe sterilization surgeries.
We are a mobile program and we have two Laboit mobile surgical hospitals. The hospitals are state of the art 33 foot long s-n vehicles. We have just placed an order for ANOTHER brand new hospital! They are comfortable to work aboard, and our staff is incredibly dedicated and fun loving!
Our nurses and doctors are highly experienced and extremely compassionate. We serve the public and area shelters, and we have our own subsidy program for low income pet owners.
We are seeking an amazing experienced surgical technician, or a trainee with some basic veterinary experience who is eager and hungry to learn and who is willing to work incredibly hard in the first few months in order to get up to speed quickly and efficiently. The right candidate must be in good physical shape and be a non-smoker, be willing to learn, work very hard, have a great sense of humor and be a super team player.
SNAP-NC offers a competitive salary, and benefits including retirement savings (with a 50% matching program!), medical coverage, 4 weeks paid vacation (you will always be guaranteed Christmas and July 4th weeks off, plus 2 additional weeks), free pet wellness, and a 4 day work week with no emergency duty!
One of the best things about the SNAP-NC culture is that we are DRAMA-FREE! We are truly one team and we all support one another. We work together for the animals. We are all different yet we compliment one another. We have virtually no staff turnover. SNAP-NC is 18 years young and we have long term team members. This position is only available because a staff member is moving out of state. We are looking for someone who wants to be with us for many years to come. Come work with us and feel like you are making a difference!
You will be required to drive the hospitals and therefore must have a clean driver’s license (or a good explanation for a minor - as in non-moving - violation). It would be best to reside within 30 minutes of New Hill, NC (we are 20 minutes SW of Raleigh) since you will need to pick up the hospital in the mornings on the days that you drive (we train you first of course).
Please e-mail a resume and cover letter detailing your experience and stating your desired hourly wage. Wages are based upon experience.
